The Ardie Fay Foundation has been established as a testament to Ardie’s love, compassion, faith, life devoted to carrying for others and her grace in dealing with dementia. 

She was born in Lonaconing Maryland, a coal mining town, where neighbors helped neighbors. She was her high school Mayflower Queen, worked in the local silk mill and married her high school sweetheart. He joined the Air Force and she moved around the country creating and caring for her family.  She has four children, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Ardie was diagnosed with Dementia in her early eighties.  It became apparent how great her needs would become as the disease progressed.  Her community had a senior day care facility which provided a safe environment, helped prolong her ability to be more independent, perform her daily skills and interaction with the community outside the home.

She interacted with people on her level without judgement.  She looked forward to music therapy, dancing, bingo, bowling, gardening, word search puzzles and crafts.  Unfortunately, when the pandemic hit the senior center closed.  It did not take long to see the effect on Ardie of not being able to attend the senior center. We realized just how important the center was and is for our seniors. 

When Ardie’s senior center closed down due to the pandemic, the importance of what it provided to the seniors and their families was quickly recognized. Sadly, today most seniors will not be as fortunate as Ardie to have access to senior programs that allow them to remain in the comfort of their own homes. The Ardie Fay Foundation wants to change that- no matter their needs, it is the Ardie Fay Foundation’s goal to improve the lives of our seniors.  We strive to bring dignity, respect, independence, and comfort to their loved ones.
