About Ardie Fay

The Ardie Fay Foundation was built out of love, and that love began with one remarkable woman — Ardie Fay Robertson.

A Life of Love and Strength

Ardie was born in Lonaconing, Maryland, a small coal mining town where hard work and close community went hand in hand. It was the kind of place where everyone knew their neighbors, and kindness was simply part of life. Ardie grew up surrounded by family, faith, and the values that would shape her into the woman everyone remembers today.

After graduating high school, where she was crowned Mayflower Queen, she began working at the local silk mill. She later married her high school sweetheart, and together they built a life centered on love, family, and service to others. When her husband joined the Air Force, Ardie took on the role of homemaker and mother with joy and grace. Through every move and every season, she made every house feel like home.

Ardie was the proud mother of four, grandmother of eleven, and great-grandmother of three. She cared deeply for her family and treated everyone she met with the same warmth and sincerity. Her home was always open, her table always welcoming, and her heart always full.

A Spirit That Never Faded

In her later years, Ardie faced the challenges of dementia. Though the illness slowly took her memories, it never took her spirit. Even when words became hard to find, her kindness still shone through. Her laughter, her sense of humor, and her gentle way of making people feel loved never left her.

Her family watched as she faced each day with courage and grace. It was during this time that they began to understand just how powerful love and compassion can be — not only for the person facing illness, but for everyone walking that road beside them.

Her journey opened their eyes to the struggles many seniors and families experience in silence. It also inspired the belief that no one should face those moments alone.

A Legacy of Faith and Compassion

Ardie’s life reflected a quiet but strong faith. She believed in caring for others, in giving without expecting anything back, and in finding joy in simple moments. Whether she was helping a neighbor, cheering for her grandchildren, or saying a prayer for someone in need, she lived her faith through her actions.

Those who knew her describe her as steady, kind, and full of light. She had a way of making everyone feel special, as if they were the only person in the room. Her love was genuine, and her presence left a lasting impression on everyone around her.

When she passed, her family wanted to find a way to continue what she had started in her own quiet way — spreading love, care, and compassion wherever she went. From that desire, the Ardie Fay Foundation was born.

Continuing Her Legacy

The foundation exists to honor the woman who inspired it all. Everything we do carries a piece of Ardie’s heart. Her strength, her faith, and her love for others live on through every senior we visit, every family we support, and every act of kindness shared in her name.

Ardie’s story reminds us that a single life lived with love can touch countless others. She taught us that compassion is not complicated — it is found in listening, helping, and showing up. Her memory continues to guide us in everything we do.

Her Legacy Lives On

Each day, we try to follow Ardie’s example. We seek to serve with patience, to love without condition, and to bring light wherever it’s needed most. The Ardie Fay Foundation is more than a name. It is a promise to carry her spirit forward.

We honor her not only by remembering her, but by living out the lessons she taught through her life — to be kind, to serve others, and to never stop believing in the good that love can do.
